2011 GMC Yukon XL

Cadillac Begins Producing XTS Sedans in China for the Local Market
This week, General Motors and its Shanghai-GM passenger vehicle joint venture with SAIC began manufacturing the new Cadillac XTS sedan at a plant in Shanghai, with all cars to be sold in China. A GM factory in Oshawa, Ontario, started production of the XTS last summer for sale in North America.
To better serve the needs of local customers, the China-market XTS will also be offered with a smaller displacement 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four gasoline engine, which is not available in the U.S..
The XTS will be marketed in five different configurations with prices ranging from 349,900 Yuan and 569,900 Yuan ($55,100 to-$91,400), which is significantly more than what Cadillac commands for the car in the States ($44,075 to $64,360).
Currently, Cadillac China’s dealer network numbers 150 shops, roughly doubling in the past year, while GM plans to open another 100 outlets by 2015. The luxury brand delivered 30,000 vehicles in China in 2012 and has set an annual target of more than 100,000 units by 2015.
“We are reaching the next level of Cadillac growth in China,” said Bob Ferguson, vice president Global Cadillac. “This expansion in localized assembly for our brand in China coincides with the strong momentum of our new product portfolio and significant growth in the dealer network.”

The low roofline flowing smoothly into the rear, the swage line - which takes in the door openers - and side windows extending well into the C-pillars accentuate the dynamically stretched silhouette.
Prominently flared wheel arches draw the eye to a track width specific to the BMW M6 Gran Coupe. The characteristic M gills, aerodynamically optimised exterior mirrors, standard BMW Individual High-gloss Shadow Line package and exclusive 20-inch M light-alloy wheels in double-spoke design underline the cars distinctive appearance, as does another M signature - twin exhaust tailpipes positioned on the outer edges of the rear apron. Also integrated into the rear apron, and charged with the task of optimising airflow along the cars underbody, is a diffuser made from CFRP.
This extremely lightweight, impressively strong high-tech material is used in the construction of the roof as well. Here, the visible carbon structure provides an eye-catching feature, as does a dynamic recess in the centre of the roof. This recess is referenced stylistically inside the car, the anthracite-coloured Alcantara roof liner gaining a central section in leather.
Emulating the harmonious blend of athletic prowess and elegance embodied by the exterior design, the distinctively M cockpit fuses sports car style with generous levels of space and a luxurious ambience. The driver and front passenger can look forward to M sports seats with integral belt guides. And the BMW M6 Gran Coupes standard specification also includes Merino leather upholstery with extended features. The rear compartment offers two or three seats, the backrests of which can split and fold down in a ratio of 40 : 60 to increase boot capacity from 460 to as much as 1,265 litres.

The powertrain technology under the skin of the BMW M6 Gran Coupe guarantees the performance characteristics for which M Automobiles are renowned. The V8 engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology produces 412 kW/560 hp. Its technical wizardry includes a pair of twin-scroll turbochargers, a cross-bank exhaust manifold, High Precision Direct Petrol Injection, VALVETRONIC variable valve timing and Double-Vanos continuously variable camshaft control. The 4,395 cc unit keeps peak torque of 680 Newton metres (502 lb-ft) on tap between 1,500 and 5,750 rpm, while maximum output is developed between 6,000 and 7,000 rpm. The engine revs to a maximum of 7,200 rpm. The BMW M6 Gran Coupe sprints from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.2 seconds on the way to an electronically governed top speed of 250 km/h/155 mph (305 km/h/189 mph if the optional M Drivers Package is specified). Average fuel consumption in the EU test cycle stands at 9.9 litres per 100 kilometres (28.5 mpg imp) and CO2 emissions are 232 grams per kilometre.

The DSC mode,engine performance characteristics, Dynamic Damper Control mapping,M Servotronic responses and M DCT Drivelogic shift program can be selected independently of each other. All of which means the driver can put together a detailed set-up and store those settings on one of the two M Drive buttons on the multifunction steering wheel.

Design and Packaging
Sharing its 2,600 mm wheelbase and 10.4 metre turning circle, the Toyota Auris Touring Sports is 285 mm longer than the hatchback, all of which is dedicated to the extended loadspace.
Rear seats in place, the loadspace is 1115 mm long and 1452 mm wide with a superior capacity of 530 litres. With the rear seats folded flat, loadspace length increases to a maximum length of 2047 mm, a maximum height of up to 890 mm and a class-leading total capacity of 1658 litres.
This superior luggage capacity is matched by segment-best functionality. The Toyota Auris Touring Sports is the only C-segment wagon to offer customers the combined benefits of Toyotas Easy Flat, one-touch foldable rear seats, a double level loadspace floor, a two-way tonneau cover, a roller-type luggage net, shopping bag hooks, aluminium roof rails and a 12 V outlet in the luggage compartment.
As with the new hatchback, the Toyota Auris Touring Sports bold, dynamic exterior design maximises the aerodynamic benefits of the models reduction in overall height, and the dynamic improvements offered by its lower centre of gravity.
The new Auris Touring Sports shares the hatchbacks new frontal design, which combines Toyotas Under Priority design language with Keen Look detailing to give a powerful yet elegant road presence.
In profile, the Toyota Auris Touring Sports also shares the hatchbacks steeply raked windscreen, which flows into an extended roofline featuring aluminium roof rails and an integral rear spoiler. At 1553 mm long by 960 mm wide, the optional Skyview panoramic sunroof is one of the largest in the segment and further strengthens the impression of roominess created by the all-new interior.
The extended, three-panel side glazing features blacked-out pillars, including a piano black finish to the B pillar, and is underscored by chrome-accented trim above the bodyworks powerful, rising beltline crease.
To the rear, the Toyota Auris Touring Sports features a new bumper and tailgate design, with the loadspace sill set 100 mm lower than that of the hatchback, above a chrome floating rear spoiler. As with the rest of the Auris range, a new, wraparound rear combination lamp design reinforces the shape of the rear wing, new D pillar design and rear screen.

Reinforcing Toyotas commitment to improving the dynamic abilities of its vehicles to offer customers a more engaging driving experience, the Auris Touring Sports benefits from all the improvements made to the new Auris hatchback.

Conversely, the Toyota Auris Touring Sports full hybrid returns class-leading CO2 emissions of only 86 g/km, and significantly lower NOx and NO particulate emissions than diesel engined cars of comparable performance.
In conjunction with Toyotas Stop & Start technology and an advanced Multidrive S transmission, CO2 emissions are highly competitive across the entire Auris Touring Sports engine range. The 1.33 and 1.6 litre petrol engines generate 127 and 139 g/km respectively, the 2.0 litre diesel 115 g/km, and the 1.4 litre diesel just 109 g/km.
